How to Create a Gallery
A gallery is a named collection of photos that you can reuse across multiple photobooks and photo print orders. Galleries live in your account — uploaded once, available everywhere.
Why Use Galleries
- Upload your photos once, link them to multiple projects
- Organize by trip, event, year, or person
- Share large collections across devices without re-uploading
Step-by-Step
1. Open Your Galleries
Sign in to your QARTA account and go to Account → Gallery, or open the gallery picker from inside any project.
2. Create a New Gallery
Click "Create Gallery". A modal opens asking for a name.
- Name is required (3–100 characters)
- Pick something descriptive: "Italy 2025", "Anna's First Year", "Family Reunion"
Click Create — you'll be taken to the empty gallery.
3. Upload Photos
In the gallery view:
- Drag and drop photos from your computer, or
- Click Upload to pick files from a file dialog, or
- On mobile, tap Upload to pick from your camera roll
Photos upload in the background. You can keep adding while the first batch is still uploading.
4. Use the Gallery in a Project
When you start a photobook or photo print order, the gallery picker lets you select an existing gallery instead of uploading new photos. Photos appear immediately in the editor.
Tips
- One gallery per event or theme — easier to find later than a giant "All Photos" pile
- Upload originals at full resolution — the editor and printer use the original quality
- Re-use galleries across projects — the same photos can power a photobook AND a photo print pack
Photo Requirements
For best print results:
- Resolution: 300 DPI or higher
- Format: JPG or PNG
- Color: sRGB color space (most cameras and phones default to sRGB)
- File size: No hard limit, but very small files (under 1 MB) may show low-resolution warnings on larger photobook sizes
See Photo Requirements & Quality Guide for details.
